Singapore proposed an evaluation program on paving with recycled material Twenty years ago. That's why there are several in the existing paving material. In this new plan, recycled material takes up a greater proportion. Asphalt wearing layer, black base, road bottom and road base form the road. Previously, recycled material only appeared at one layer from the road. Four layers will be made up of recycled material. Following your program, the authority will assess the wearing condition. When the result is satisfying, the authority will widely adopt this stuff in paving, helping the proportion.

Depend less on sands overseas
You can find reasons for Singapore's obsession with test program "Green Lanes". To minimize their attachment to imported raw material like sand comes the very first. Granite, an important material for paving is mainly imported. With fluctuated prices from the granite and political issues' browsing the way, their raw materials are not easy to get.
Although it is still unclear with the cost effects of the Green Lanes, recycled materials do save millions Singapore Dollars in comparison with granite. Singapore New Launch

Thorny problems of garbage disposal solved
Environmental friendly Green Lanes also tackles the difficulties of garbage disposal. Speedy development exerts side effects---producing innumerous garbage. According to statistics from National Environment Agency of Singapore, the citizens produced 5.Six million tons of garbage in 2007.
At the start of 1990s, Singapore government began to develop the projects of recycling, encouraging residents and enterprises to attenuate the production of trash. Once the "Green Lanes" succeeded, solid garbage will be burned and processed.
